This looks like it could be a very nice step/ramp arrangement for my aging dog, but the instructions are terrible (and wrong) and it’s virtually impossible for someone other than a master carpenter to put together. One of the types of screws is mislabeled on the instruction sheet, there are no pilot holes on the steps themselves, and the screws aren’t really as long as they could/should be to securely hold it together. I’m pretty much torn between laboring on to try to get it together or just putting it back in the box and sending it back.

As the first reviewer suggested, it IS difficult to put together in that the instructions are not clear. The first step is super simple, and then you look at step two with the difficult to see illustration, and you end up kind of winging in. Because I’ve put together my fair share of furniture, I was able to figure it out, but I do see how this can be really difficult for most folks. The quality of the finished product is not great. I paid $20 for a wooden stool at Target that I use in the bathroom for the kids, and that’s much better quality. This, frankly is kind of flimsy (but sturdy enough for my small dogs). But that being said, the price on this is pretty low compared to the other ramps out there, so like I said, it’s an OK buy. And at least it’s wooden and not a crappy piece of plastic furniture in my living room. Hope this helps others out there!

    Cheaply made, August 8, 2012

The steps are very low, so our dog cannot use them to get to the sofa, it only stands about halfway up the couch. Pain to assemble, broke after 2 days. When converted to ramp it does not convert easily and the steps dont fit together correctly to form a continuous, smooth surface. Very cheaply made, worth about $5. I would absolutely not buy this product if I were you. Big waste of money.
